Modern Betting Systems:
The Parolis System
The Parolis system is essentially an Anti-Grand Martingale. Like the anti-Martingale, it is a positive betting progression where the wager is increased after winning, and a minimum bet is placed when losing. The betting sequence is as follows:
The first bet is one unit. The second bet is two times the previous bet plus one unit. In this case, it is $15. The third bet is twice this plus one unit. Each subsequent bet is calculated this way, always twice the previous bet plus one unit. The only way you come out ahead with this system is to quit before you lose. Unless you are psychic, you aren't going to know when this is going to happen. Therefore, you are going to have to pick a point after which you drop down to one unit again. This might be after three wins in a row.
My experience with betting progressions tells me that progressions which progress more slowly are better in the long run. Only 25% of the winning series of bets are three wins in a row or more. This means with this system, 75% of the winning series are going to be losers. When you have a lengthy winning streak, you will capitalize, but the rest of the time, you will be losing. If you want to use a betting progression, many of the betting progressions designed for Blackjack are applicable to even money outside bets. This is especially true in Europe and the UK where the Casino advantage is lower and you have en prison or surrender options which lower the house advantage to 1.35%. See betting progressions in this site.
