Roulette Bets
There are two main categories of bets in Roulette: Inside and
Outside.

Outside bets may be even money bets, black/red, even/odd,
or high/low, or may be two to one bets.  The two to one bets
are the Dozens bets and Columns bets. The dozens bet is
where the bet is placed on either numbers 1-12, 13-24, or
25-36.  The final group of outside bets are the columns bets.
The box at the bottom of each of the three columns is where
the bet is placed. It is marked "2 to 1".  Look at the diagram
below.

The second major category of bets are the six Inside Bets.  They are
made on the field or on lines and intersections of lines adjacent to the
field of numbers.

1. Straight-up Bet: Straight-up bets are bets on one number only.
The payoff is 35:1, and the odds of hitting a single random number is
38 to 1 on the American wheel. The house advantage is 5.26% on the
American wheel.

2. Split Bet: Split bets are placed on a line between two numbers.  The
bet is "split" between the two, so if either wins, the wager is paid.  It is
paid at 17 to 1, and the odds of either of them hitting is 19 to 1.  The
house advantage is also 5.26% on the American wheel.

3. Street Bet: Street bets are placed on the outside border on the line
of 3 numbers.  One bet can cover three numbers such as 1-2-3,
34-35-36, etc.  The wager is paid at 11 to 1, and the odds of either of
the three numbers hitting 38 to 3.  The house advantage remains at
5.26%.

4. Corner Bet: A corner bet covers four numbers.  The wager is placed
at the junction of four number corners, hence the name.  Since it
covers four numbers, the payoff is 8 to 1.  The odds of one of the
numbers hitting is 19 to 2, and the house advantage remains at 5.26%.

5. Five Number Bet:  The five number bet is unique to the American
wheel and table. This bet is placed where on the outside left where the
one and zero intersect.  It covers numbers 1, 2, 3, 0, and 00.  It pays
at 6 to 1, and the odds of one of the five hitting is 38 to 5.  This is the
worst bet on the table, with a casino take of 7.9%, and is not
recommended. Since the French wheel has only a single zero, This bet
is actually a four number bet on 0, 1, 2, and 3.

6. Line Bet, also known as Double Street Bet:  This bet covers two
streets and is placed on the outside line between two rows of three
numbers each.  It covers the six numbers of the two "streets" or rows,
an pays at 5 to 1.  The odds of one of the six numbers winning is 19
to 3, and the casino take is 5.26%.
